The Phoenix Women’s Board of the Steele Children’s Research Center is pleased to announce the: The PANDA “Children Helping Children” Fashion Show and Luncheon is Saturday, May 11th, 2013 at the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona

This year, we celebrate our 14th Annual PANDA “Children Helping Children” Luncheon and Fashion Show. Proceeds will fund the PANDA Children’s Autoimmune Disorders Project to help unravel the mystery of common diseases among children –like type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s/colitis, and celiac disease.

The greatest health concern for children today is the staggering increase in autoimmune diseases. Autoimmune diseases result when our bodies’ fighter cells turn against our own healthy cells and destroy them. The 2013 “Children Helping Children” Fashion Show proceeds will fund the PANDA Children’s Autoimmune Disorders Project to help unravel the mystery of common diseases among children –like type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s/colitis, and celiac disease.

Current estimates suggest that as many as 9.4% of the world’s population suffer from an autoimmune disease. In the US it is estimated to be as many as 50 million people, costing nearly $100 billion per year in treatment and care. These diseases are progressive, debilitating, and are one of the leading causes of death and disability.

Monies raised for the PANDA Children’s Autoimmune Disorders Project will build on discoveries already made at the Steele Center. Please join PANDA this year to investigate, establish, and determine treatments for these devastating childhood autoimmune diseases. Let’s help children school, be able to have sleepovers, and lead healthier more confident lives.
